PUTTENHAM, a parish in the first division of the hundred of GODALMING, county of SURREY, 4 miles (W. by S.) from Guildford, containing 389 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Wanborough, in the archdeaconry of Surrey, and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £11. 17. 11., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
