QUARRENDON, a parish in the hundred of ASHENDON, county of BUCKINGHAM, 2 miles (N.N.W.) from Aylesbury, containing 68 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Bierton, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is fast hastening to decay; it was founded by John Farnham, about 1392, and rebuilt in the reign of Elizabeth, by Sir Henry Lee, to some of the deceased members of whose family it contains some handsome monuments. A great storm happened here in 1570, which did considerable damage to property of different kinds.
