RADSTOCK, a parish in the hundred of KILMERSDON, county of SOMERSET, 7 miles (N.W.) fromFrome, containing 902 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Wells, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £6. 11. 0., and in the patronage of Earl Waldegrave. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Coal mines are in operation in' the vicinity. A railway runs through the village, and the old Fosse-road passes through the parish. Radstock gives title of baron to a branch of the family of Waldegrave.
