RAMBOTTOM, a hamlet in the chapelry of LOWER TOTTINGTON, in that part of the parish of BURY which is in the hundred of SALFORD, county palatine of LANCASTER, 4 miles (N.) from Bury. The population is returned with Tottington. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. At this place are very extensive cotton-spinning and printing establishments, affording employment to about three thousand persons.
