REMPSTONE, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of RUSHCLIFFE, county of NOTTINGHAM, 4 miles (N.E.byN.) from Loughborough, containing 368 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £13. 2. 6., and in the patronage of the Master of Sidney- Sussex College, Cambridge. The church, dedicated to All Saints, which was consecrated in 1773, was erected with the materials of the former edifice of St. Peter in the Rushes, and of a chapel long before in disuse.
