RENDLESHAM, a parish, in the hundred of LOES, county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (S. B. by S.) from Wickham- Market, containing 249 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £24. 13. 4., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Gregory. Here Suidhelm, King of the East Angles, was baptized by Cedda. Rendlesham gives the title of baron to the family of Thelusson, in the Irish peerage.
