RIDWARE (PIPE), a parish in the northern division of the hundred of OFFLOW, county of STAFFORD, 4 miles (E.) from Rudgeley, containing 114 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean of Lichfield, endowed with £ 600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Prebendary of Alrewas in the Cathedral Church of Lichfield. The church is dedicated to St. James. The river Trent and the Grand Junction canal pass through the parish.
