ROTHERWICK, a parish in the hundred of OMHAM, Basingstoke division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 5 miles .(W. by S.) from Hartford-Bridge, containing 402 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Chancellor of the Cathedral Church of Salisbury. A school-house was erected, in 1713, by Frederick Tylncy, who in 1716 endowed it with a rent-charge of £ 10, for teaching ten children of each sex.
