RUISLIP, a parish in the hundred of ELTHORNE,
county of MIDDLESEX, 3 miles (N. E.) from Uxbridge,
containing 1343 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage,
in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of Lon-.
don, rated in the king's books at £12, and in the
patronage, of the Dean and Canons of Windsor. The
church is dedicated to St. Martin. Here was formerly
a cell to the abbey of Bee in Normandy, the revenue of
which at the suppression was valued at £18.
