RUSTON (EAST), a parish in the hundred of HAPPING, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (E. by S.) from North Walsham, containing 6 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, with the rectory of Ridlington, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £11.11.10., endowed with £200 royal bounty. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Professor Porson, celebrated as a critic and classical scholar, was born here in 1759.
