RYTON-upon-DUNSMOOR, a parish in the Rugby
division of the hundred of KNIGHTLOW, county of
WARWICK, 4 miles (S.E.) from Coventry, containing
498 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in
the archdeaconry of Coventry, and diocese of Lichfield
and Coventry, rated in the king’s books at & 11. 6. EL,
endowed with &SO0 private benefaction, and $2 1400
parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Prebendary
of Ryton in the Cathedral Church of Lichfield.
The church, dedicated to St. Leonard, is partly
in the early style of English architecture.
