SAPISTON, a parish in the hundred of BLACKBOURN,
county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (N. by W.) from
Ixworth, containing 242 inhabitants. The living is a
perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and
diocese of Norwich, endowed with £ 1200 royal bounty,
and in the patronage of the Duke of Grafton. The
church is dedicated to St. Andrew.
