SAUNDERTON, a parish in the hundred of DESBOROUGH, county of BUCKINGHAM, 1 mile (S. W.) from Princes-Risborough, containing 210 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £13. 9. 7-, and in the patronage of the President and Fellows of Magdalene College, Oxford. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. This formerly constituted two parishes, but coming into the possession of one individual, they were united, in 1457, and the church dedicated to St. Nicholas was suffered to go to ruin.
