SEDGEBROOK, a parish in the wapentake of WINNIERIGGS-and-THREO,
parts of KESTEVEN, county of
LINCOLN, 4 miles (W. N. W.) from Grantham, containing
230 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in medieties,
one rated in the king's books at £7. 18. 9., and
the other at £7. 4. 7., and both in the patronage of
the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence.
Lady Margaret Thorold, in 1718, gave land, directing
that £15 of the income arising therefrom should Inapplied
for teaching fifteen poor children, £5 for apprenticing
one boy, and £5 to the poor.
