county of LEICESTER, 4 miles (E.S.B) from
Hinckley, containing 460 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £9. 18. 9., and
in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated
to St. Helen. The river Soar runs through the parish.
