SHENINGTON, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of TEWKESBURY, county of GLOUCESTER, 6 miles (W. N. W.) from Banbury, containing 381 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Gloucester, rated in the king's books at. £15. 3. 4. Robert Dent, Esq. and others were patrons in 1801. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, has lately received an addition of one hundred and thirteen sittings, of which ninety are free, the Incorporated Society for the enlargement of churches and chapels having granted £ 60 towards defraying the expense.
