SHENLEY, a parish comprising the hamlet of Brook-End in the hundred of COTTESLOE, and the township of Church-End in that of NEWPORT, county of BUCKINGHAM, 3 miles (N. W. by W.) from Fenny- Stratford, and containing 449 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £22. 9. 7-, an(i m tne patronage of the Rev. P. Knapp, The church is dedicated to St. Mary. An almshouse was founded here by Thomas Stafford, Esq., with an endowment of £35 per annum, for four men and two women, each of whom receives a small weekly stipend, and an annual allowance for clothing.
