SHERRINGHAM, a parish in the northern division of the hundred of ERPINGHAM, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (W.) from Cromer, containing 694 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £600 royal bounty, and £ 1200 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Ely. The church is dedicated to All Saints. Here was formerly a monastery of Black canons, a cell to Nutley abbey, Buckinghamshire.
