SHERSTON, or SHERSTON-PINKNEY (PARVA), a parish,
in a detached portion of the hundred of CHIPPENHAM,
county of WILTS, 4 miles (W.) from Malmesbury,
containing 123 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, united to the vicarage of Sherston Magna,
in the archdeaconry and diocese of Salisbury, rated
in the king's books at £3. 14. 4. The church has long
been demolished, no institution having taken place since
1640, when the patronage was in the Crown.
