SHUSTOCK, a parish in the Atherstone division of the hundred of HEMLINGFORD, county of WARWICK, 2 miles (E. N. E.) from Coleshill, containing, with the hamlets of Bentley and Blythe, 577 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Coventry, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £5. 7., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Cuthbert. Thomas and Charles Huntback, in 1714, gave certain houses and land to endow a school for poor children, and an almshouse for six widows.
