SIBFORD-GOWER, a hamlet in that part of the
parish of SWALCLIFFE which is in the hundred of BLOXHAM,
county of OXFORD, 7 miles (W. by S.) from Banbury,
containing 494 inhabitants. One-third of the rents
of the poor's estate is paid to a schoolmaster for teaching
about sixty children. It is within the peculiar jurisdiction
of the manorial court of Sibford.
