SNEYD, a township in the parish of BURSLEM,
northern division of the hundred of PIREHILL, county
of STAFFORD,  a mile (N.) from Hanley. The population
is returned with the parish. There is a place of
worship for Wesleyan Methodists. The manufacture
of earthenware is carried on here, and there are
extensive coal-works in the vicinity.
