STICKNEY, a parish in the western division of the soke of BOLINGBROKE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (EbyN.) from Bolingbroke, containing 763 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £13. 11. 3., and in the patronage of the Rev. R. Loxham. The church is dedicated to St. Luke. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. A grammar school was founded, in 1678, by William Lovell, who endowed it with land producing a liberal income to the master.
