STODY, a parish in the hundred of HOLT, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (S. W. by S.) from Holt, containing 125 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, with that of Hunworth united, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £6. 3. 4., and in the patronage of Lord SufBeld. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Three pounds per annum, the gift of a Mr, Symonds, is applied for teaching poor children.
