STOKE-ASH, a parish in the hundred of HARTISMERE,
county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles (S. W.) from Eye,
containing 330 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry of Sudbiiry, and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the king's books at £11. 1. 3., and in the
patronage of the Rev. John Ward. The church is dedicated
to All Saints. There is a place of worship for
Baptists. A branch of the river Waveney flows through
the parish.
