STOKE-TALMAGE, a parish in the hundred of
PIRTON, county of OXFORD, 2 miles (S. S. W.) from
Tetsworth, containing 140 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated
in the king's books at £ 12.17-1., and in the patronage
of the Earl of Macclesfield. The church is dedicated
to St. Mary Magdalene.
