STOW-BEDON, a parish in the hundred of WAYLAND, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (S. E. by S.) from Watton, containing 290 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £4. 19. 4., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Rev. John Eade. The church, dedicated to St. Botolph, was anciently ap- propriated to Marham abbey, and had a guild founded in honour of the Virgin Mary.
