STRATFORD (OLD), a parish in the Stratford division of the hundred of BARLICHWAY, county of WARWICK, adjacent to the town of Stratford upon Avon, containing, with the hamlet of Luddington, and the. town of Stratford upon Avon, 4229 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Rector of Stratford upon Avon, rated in the king's books at £20, endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Earl of Plymouth. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
