STREET, a parish in the hundred of WHITLEY, county of SOMERSET, 1 mile (S. S.W.) from Glastonbury, containing ?91 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Walton annexed, in the archdeaconry of Wells, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £24. 12. 3., and in the patronage of the Marquis of Bath. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, has lately received an addition of two hundred and fifty-six sittings, of which two hundred and forty are free, the Incorporated Society for the enlargement of churches and chapels having granted £120 towards defraying the expense. There are places of worship for Baptists and the Society of Friends. A large fair for afl kinds of cattle is held at Christmas.
