STRIXTON, a parish in the hundred of HIGHAMFERRERS, county of NORTHAMPTON, 4 miles (S. byE.) from Wellingborough, containing 56 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, consolidated with the vicarage of Bozeat, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £7, and in the patronage of Earl Spencer. The church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is small, but affords a good specimen of the early style of English architecture.
