STUTTON, a township, joint with Hazlewood, in
that part of the parish of TADCASTER which is in the
upper division of the wapentake of BARKSTONE-ASH,
West riding of the county of YORK, 1 mile (S. by W.)
from Tadcaster, containing 256 inhabitants. In the
neighbourhood are quarries of excellent limestone, and
several limekilns.
