SUDBORNE, a parish in the hundred of PLOMESGATE, county of SUFFOLK, 1 mile (N. by E.) from Orford, containing 561 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of Orford annexed, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £33. 6. 8, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to All Saints. The parish is bounded on the east by the North sea: on the shore is a lighthouse, called, with another in the adjoining parish of Orford, "The Orfordness Lights."
