SURLINGHAM, a parish in the hundred of HENSTEAD, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (E. S. E.) from Norwich, containing 403 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the perpetual curacy of St. Saviour's annexed, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £ 6. 13. 4 anj in the patronage of the Rev. W. Collett. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Here is a ferry across the Yare, which is much frequented. .
