SYERSTON, a parish in the southern division of
the wapentake of NEWARK, county of NOTTINGHAM, 5
miles (S. W.) from Newark, containing 129 inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage
of East Stoke, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham,
and diocese of York. The old Fosse road passes
through the parish, which is partly bounded by the.
