TAMERTON (NORTH), a parish in the hundred of STRATTON, county of CORNWALL, 5 miles (S. S. W.) from Holsworthy, containing 479 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, and in the alternate patronage of P. Coffin, Esq., and Miss I'Ans. The church is dedicated to St. Denis. The river Tamar and the Bude canal run through the parish, in a parallel direction, from north to south. There is a dilapidated chapel at Hornacot, in this parish.
