TANNINGTON, a parish in the hundred of HOXNE,
county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (N. W.) from Framlingham,
containing 209 inhabitants. The living' is a discharged
vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and
diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at
£12. 10. 2., endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the
Bishop of Rochester. The church is dedicated to St.
Ethelbert.
