TATHWELL, a parish in the Wold division of the hundred of LOUTH-ESKE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 3 miles (S. by W.) from Louth, containing 272 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Lincoln. The church is dedicated to St. Vedast. On a high hill in this parish are six barrows, in a line running from east to west.
