THORINGTON, a parish in the hundred of BLYTHING,
county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (S. E.) from Halesworth,
containing 158 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and
diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7,
endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of H. B. Bence, Esq. The church is dedicated to St.
Peter.
