THORLEY, a parish in the liberty of WEST-MEDINA, Isle of Wight division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 1 mile (E. S. E.) from Yarmouth, containing 132 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £6. 18. 9. The Rev. Dr. Walker and Edward Roberts, Esq. were patrons in 1802. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, has a belfry over the porch, but no tower.
