THORRINGTON, a parish in the hundred of TENDRING,
county of ESSEX, 8 miles (S. E. by E.) from
Colchester, containing 3E>3 inhabitants.. The living is
a rectory, with that of Frating annexed, in the archdeaconry
of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated
in the king's books at £16, and in the patronage of the
Master and Fellows of St. John's College, Cambridge.
The church is dedicated to St. -Mary Magdalene. There
is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
