THRECKINGHAM, a parish in the wapentake of AVELAND, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (N. E. by N.) from Falkingham, containing, with the hamlet of Stow, 202 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 6. 8.9., and in the patronage of Sir G. Heathcote, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, has a lofty tower and spire, and exhibits a curious admixture of the Norman, early English, and decorated styles of architecture. In the chancel is an elegant stall; the font is circular, with early English panelling, and there are some old monuments and good screen-work.
