THRELKELD, a chapelry in the parish of GREYSTOCK, LEATH ward, county of CUMBERLAND, 4 miles (E. N. E.) from Keswick, containing 303 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Carlisle, endowed with £ 600 royal bounty, and £400 parliamentary grant, and in. the patronage of the Rector of Greystock. The chapel, dedicated to St. Mary, was rebuilt by subscription, upwards of fifty years ago.
