TICEHURST, a parish in the hundred of SHOYSWELL, rape of HASTINGS, county of SUSSEX, 4 miles (E. S. E.) from Wadhurst, containing 1966 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Lewes., and diocese of Chichester, rated in the Icing's books at £18. 7. 6., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is principally in the later style of English architecture.
