TILSTOCK, a chapelry in that part of the parish
of WHITCHURCH which is in the Whitchurch division
of the hundred of BRADFORD (North), county of
SALOP, 2 miles (S.) from Whitchurch. The population
is returned with the parish. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of
Lichfield and Coventry, endowed with £400 private
benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the Trustees of the late Earl of Bridgewater.
The chapel is dedicated to St.'Giles.
