TISTED (WEST), a parish in the hundred of
BISHOP'S-SUTTON, Alton (North) division of the county
of SOUTHAMPTON, 4 miles (S. E. by E.) from New
Alresford, containing 206 inhabitants. The living is
a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of
Winchester, endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the
President and Fellows of Magdalene College, Oxford.
