TYTHBY, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of BINGHAM, county of NOTTINGHAM, 9 miles (E. S. E.) from Nottingham, containing, with the chapelry of Cropwell-Butler, 636 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of John Chaworth, Esq. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
