WADINGHAM, a parish in the eastern division of the wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 8 miles (S. by W.) from Glandford-Bridge, containing 447 inhabitants. The living consists of the united rectories of St. Mary and St. Peter, with the chapelry of Snitterby annexed, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £29. 6. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. A new cut, or canal, called the river Ancholme, passes through the parish. A free school is endowed with thirty acres of land.
