WALDEN (ST-PAUL'S), a parish in the hundred of CASHIO, or liberty of ST-ALBANS, county of HERTFORD, 5 miles (N. N. W.) from Welwyn, containing 906 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of St. Albans, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £10, endowed with £800 private benefaction, £800 royal bounty, and £600 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of St. Paul's, London. The church is dedicated to All Saints. There are places of worship for Baptists and Independents.
