WANTISDEN, a parish in the hundred of PLOMESGATE,
county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (N. W. by W.)
from Orford, containing 128 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk,
and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £1200 royal
bounty, and £200 parliamentary grant, and in the
patronage of N. Barnardiston, Esq. The church is
dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
