WARKSBURN, a township in the parish of WARK,
north-western division of TINDALE ward, county of
NORTHUMBERLAND, 5 miles (S.) from Bellingham, containing
290 inhabitants. Near the farm-house of Roses
Bower is a medicinal spring, called Holy .Well, the water
of which is said to be efficacious in the cure of agues
and certain obstructions.
